We get a lot of questions about the 22 Creedmoor. At shows, folks often stop and ask about why we like it so much. Typically they’re comparing it against the 220 Swift… “My 220 Swift shoots 4,000–.” When it comes to the “right caliber” debate, you’ll get 13 different opinions from 10 different people. The 22 Creedmoor is growing in popularity, and we want to help set the record straight on what it can – and can’t – do. This round is a workhorse and shooters can take advantage of the fast speed and low wind-drift.

In this infographic, we make a direct comparison of the 22 Creedmoor vs. the 220 Swift. We looked at the load data from our own loads of the 22 Creed and the load data from factory ammo available for the 220 Swift. The 220 Swift certainly has the speed at muzzle velocity, but once you’re shooting out past 400-500 yards, the 22 Creedmoor quickly outshines the competition in each category we looked at.

The bottom line is, when you’re looking at the numbers, it’s clear that 22 Creedmoor isn’t your grandad’s 22.

Hi, Michael. Price for a 22 Creedmoor build really depends on components selected. Our full custom builds typically average between $4,500-$5,000. But we also have the ability to do semi-custom builds as well as rebarrels, for a lesser investment. Feel free to reach out! 979-229-4664 or by email: info [at] horizonfirearms.com Thanks for your interest!

I have a ruger 77 that I would like to have re-barreled to 22 creed. Is that possible and if so what would be the approximate cost?
